Hawaiʻi County Seeks Resident Input on Short-Term Rentals

Post Date:04/17/2025 9:46 AM

The County of Hawai'i is asking residents to complete an online survey to help analyze the impacts of short-term rentals (STRs).

The survey results will support an economic impact study the Department of Research and Development is conducting on STRs as required by County Council Resolution 556-24. In developing this analysis, the County has hired Hunden Partners to complete the study, which includes resident input through this survey.

“Gathering input is essential as we look at the economic and community impacts of short-term rentals,” said Mayor Kimo Alameda. “We encourage residents to take a few minutes to complete this survey so that we can make informed and balanced decisions.”

The survey takes about five minutes to complete. Survey responses are anonymous; contact information will not be used for any other purpose.
