County Clerk: Jon Henricks

Mr. Jon Henricks was born in Hilo, attended Ernest Bowen de Silva Elementary School, Hilo Intermediate School, and graduated from Hilo High School in 1991.

Jon earned an associate’s degree from Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, New York. He completed his education at Indiana University - Purdue University at Indianapolis, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from Indiana University.

Jon started at the Office of the County Clerk and Hawai‘i County Council as a legislative assistant to Council Member Fred Holshcuh, M.D. He then went on to work as a Legislative Specialist in the Legislative Research Branch from 2007 through 2014, and served as Deputy County Clerk from 2014 through 2018.

Deputy County Clerk: Aaron Brown

Mr. Aaron Brown was born and raised in Hilo, and attended Waiākea Elementary, Waiākea Intermediate, and Waiākea High School, where he graduated in 2003.  

Aaron earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus in Finance, and a Master of Business Administration from Oregon State University.   

Aaron started at the County in 2016 where he worked as the Business Manager at the Department of Public Works for almost two years, before working as the Deputy County Clerk from 2018 – 2023.  Aaron then served as the Deputy Finance Director until December 2024, before returning to the County Clerk’s Office as the Deputy County Clerk. 

Before coming to the County of Hawaiʻi, Aaron served as the Chief Financial Officer and Project Manager for Sig Zane Designs, where he handled all the financial management and project coordination for Sig Zane Designs and Sig Zane Kaiao, the design arm of the company.
